Inorganic electroluminescence is a “cold light,” whereas electrical conversion to light is achieved without heat loss. Electric power consumption is minimal because no energy is employed in generating heat. Special encapsulated zinc sulfide pigments are excited with AC voltage and emit light.

Electroluminescence is used to manufacture interior lightings, backlights, and advertising displays as well as novel, screen printed displays. In all these cases, ORMECON® EL products enable the design of these products to be flexible, flat, cost-effective, energy efficient and easily exchangeable.
